Start somewhere. Don’t just be a sponge or a spooge. Start somewhere. Make it matter.
Here’s an idea.
Start inside the MIND that you are. Imagine an Ideal. Let’s call it a VISION.
A Vision is not a goal. There are very important differences between the two.
A Vision is a BIG thing – that you hold in mind as DONE. Me being a bestselling author, speaker and trainer that changes millions of lives, lives simply, enjoying the Heartwood Gardens. I don’t know all the HOWS around how it will happen, I only know that it is true – and that it is a part of me.
Key Point: Held in mind as DONE – here now – the real reality of me. It’s not just about stuff, it’s about the experience of ME in the world.
Let’s compare that to a goal.
A Goal is something like: Write 4 articles a day to build up my tribe members, and bring more good people into the tribe. This article here, is one of my articles for today. A goal completed. I have many other goals for today, and this month, and this year as well.
Key Point: Goals are held in mind with an action plan – and completion points in time.
And having BOTH goals and vision – in mind – gets me to start somewhere – be part of the action – and enjoy the man I get to be.
To build a life, a garden, a business, an empire – you really need to have both Vision and Goals. One without the other, just doesn’t seem to create a life worth having lived.

PS: Vision without goals is playing the passive role in life. Totally, let’s wait and see. Goals without vision leave you more likely to be stressed, frantic, and in the end, wondering what the point of it all is. Having both – leads to a dynamic energized balance that makes life worth living.
