What REALLY killed David Carradine? By Mr. Twenty Twenty

david_carradineHey mate,

I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that I may be the only person on the planet that knows what REALLY killed David Carradine.

And I’ve got to get it off my chest, so they don’t come looking for me.

David did something amazing back in the early 70’s. He got an amazing role in the TV series, Kung Fu.  That role, touched countless lives, exposing our culture to principles that will impact many generations.

Then after a few seasons, the ride was over.

The next thirty odd years consisted of some yellow book ads that poked fun at a role that was such a huge blessing to me and millions others.  Followed by a corny Tai Chi video or two, and then Kill Bill.   The loving wisdom of Kwai Chang Kane – contaminated by “Get R Done.”

So what REALLY killed David Carradine?

The death and torture of Kwai Chang Caine.

Only Caine didn’t die a quick death, he got poked with sticks and made fun of for 30 plus years.

David, I prayed for you the moment I heard.  I even shed a tear.   The first time I went through my mother’s coat pockets for change was to buy a TV Guide which had you on the cover.  You will be missed.   Your role as Kwai Chang Caine impacted me, and I choose to live a life that impacts others.  I hold you in love, and wish you the best on your next journey into new territory.

I only wish I would have had the resolve to let you know, just a bit sooner.

And so I ask myself, “What can I do today, to let someone special know  how they have impacted my life?”

Your friend,

Kwai Chang Twenty

  1. Great post! Loved watching Kung Fu.
He had two other movies, one based on Kung Fu and another similar one (later copied by another movie)–a quest to find a box that contained the answer to the world’s problems, the greatest secret-he opened it, and it was a mirror…
Even people who we think don’t need our lowly thanks, really need it–we’re all human. It’s especially important to give it to those who have “bucked the system” doing good things and brought down cain on themselves because of it.

  2. Just read your- ‘What REALLY killed Keith Carradine?’ Amazing things you write about, Twenty. Keep it coming!

  3. Personally, I do not think he killed himself, am always going to believe it was foul play.

Why was he hanging there for 12 hours, that’s what the papers said, he was hung there for 12 hours. So why did it take so long to find him, was there not a maid to clean his room.

I do know that if I were related, someone would have to tell me or give me a logical explanation why that he was hanging there for 12 hours.
